Ring Size Guide

Getting your ring size right is easier than you think. We've put together three methods that work without a jeweller, and every Myni ring comes with a complimentary resize within the first year - so you're covered either way.

THREE WAYS TO MEASURE

Choose the method that works for you.

You don't need any specialist equipment. For the first two methods, download and print our PDF guide - it includes everything you need on the page, ready to use.

01/ Measure an Existing Ring
  1. Print the PDF on A4 paper at 100% scale.

  2. Find a ring that fits your ring finger comfortably.

  3. Place it over the circles until you find the one that fits neatly inside the ring.

  4. The letter on that circle is your UK ring size.

  5. If between sizes, go up. If none fit, contact us and we'll help you from there.

02/ The Paper Strip Method
  1. Print the PDF on A4 paper at 100% scale.

  2. Place the strip around the base of your finger and secure it by feeding the end through the opening.

  3. Adjust until it fits comfortably in place - firm enough not to slip, but still comfortable to wear.

  4. Check the letter that lines up with the arrow to find your correct ring size.

  5. If you're unsure at any step, just reach out and we can guide you.

03/ The String Method
  1. Use a thin piece of string, thread, or a strip of dental floss.

  2. Wrap it around the base of your ring finger - snug but comfortable.

  3. Mark where the ends meet, then lay the string flat and measure the full length in millimetres.

  4. Divide this measurement by 3.14 to calculate the inner diameter of your fingers.

  5. Match the diameter (mm) to the corresponding size on our chart below.

If you're between two sizes, always go up.

TIPS FOR ACCURACY

Small details that make a big difference.

Ring size can vary by up to a full size depending on the time of day, temperature, and which hand you measure. These tips will help you get the most accurate reading.

Measure at the end of the day

Fingers are naturally slightly larger in the evening. Measuring in the morning may give you a size that's too small.

If between sizes, go up

It is easier to resize a ring down than up. When in doubt, the larger size is always the safer choice.

Measure the correct hand

Always measure the finger on the hand the ring will actually be worn on for the most accurate fit.

Wide bands fit tighter

If your Myni ring has a wide band (5mm or more), go half a size up from your measured size.

Avoid cold temperatures

Cold causes fingers to shrink. Don't measure immediately after being outside in winter or after handling cold water.

Measure more than once

Take at least two or three measurements on different days and at different times of day. If results vary, use the average.

The Myni Resize Guarantee

Every Myni ring comes with one complimentary resize within the first year of purchase. So even if your size is slightly off - whether due to measuring at the wrong time of day, a change in season, or simply an honest guess - we'll correct it at no cost to you.

Just get in touch and we'll arrange everything. Resizing typically takes five to seven working days and your ring will be returned fully insured.

PLANNING A SURPRISE?

How to get the right size without asking.

Buying an engagement ring as a surprise is one of the most common - and most stressful - challenges for a proposer. You're not alone. Here are the methods our clients use most successfully, from the practical to the elegant.

Borrow a ring they already wear

Find a ring they wear on their ring finger and borrow it discreetly. Print our PDF guide and place the ring over the printed circles. The circle it sits over most neatly gives you their size instantly.

Ask someone close to them

A best friend, sister, brother, father or mother may already know - or can find out discreetly. Many of our clients' partners are in on the secret in a limited way, tasked with obtaining the size and nothing else. It works surprisingly often.

Compare with your own finger

If you're buying for someone with a similar hand size, you can try comparing against your own finger, or a ring that fits you, as a rough reference point for sizing. This can help you get a general idea of scale and proportion.

Make your best guess - we'll resize

If all else fails, make an educated estimate and place your order with confidence. You can still enjoy the moment, and if the size isn't quite right, it can be resized after. Our complimentary first-year resize means this carries no extra cost.

The Myni Invitation - our most elegant solution.

Rather than guessing a size, some of our clients choose to present a beautifully designed Myni invitation at the proposal - the promise of a ring, rather than the ring itself. You design everything together afterwards and the ring is made to fit perfectly from the start. No guessing. No resize needed. And they get to be involved in the design of something they'll wear every day.

PRINTABLE GUIDE

Download the at-home measuring kit.

Our one-page printable PDF includes a cut-out paper measuring strip and actual-size ring circles (F–Z). Please print at 100% scale, and ensure the 'fit to page' option is not selected, as this will affect the accuracy of the measurements.
