How Much Does a Bespoke Engagement Ring Actually Cost?

It's the question everyone types into Google at some point during the engagement ring search, and it's the one that almost nobody answers directly. Most jewellers either dodge it entirely or bury a vague starting figure in the small print.
We're going to answer it properly. Because honest pricing is the whole point of Myni.
The short answer
A bespoke engagement ring from Myni typically falls somewhere between [PRICE BRACKET — update this when you have your numbers], depending on three things: the stone you choose, the metal, and how complex the design is.
What we can say upfront: for an equivalent ring in terms of stone quality and metal, you'll typically pay 20–40% less with Myni than you would at a high-street jeweller. That gap exists because we work directly with our craftsmen — there's no showroom, no retail markup, and no middleman taking a cut.
What actually drives the price
The stone is by far the biggest factor. The centre stone is usually 60–80% of the total cost of any engagement ring. The main variables are the type of stone, whether you choose natural or lab-grown, and for diamonds, the 4Cs.
Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and optically identical to natural diamonds. They cost significantly less for the same size and quality — typically 50–70% less — which means your budget goes a lot further. We don't push one over the other; we explain the difference honestly and let you decide.
For diamonds, cut, colour, clarity, and carat weight all affect price. A well-cut 1ct diamond in the near-colourless range (G–H) with eye-clean clarity is usually the sweet spot for most budgets.
The metal matters too. We work with 18ct and 14ct gold (yellow, white, and rose) and silver. 18ct gold costs more than 14ct — it has a higher gold content and richer colour. White gold is rhodium-plated and will need replating every few years. Rose gold and yellow gold maintain their colour without replating.
Design complexity is the third variable. A plain solitaire is the most affordable starting point. Each additional element adds cost: a hidden halo, pave-set shoulders, a twisted band, engraving, or a shaped band designed to sit flush against an existing ring.
Why bespoke often costs less than people expect
The assumption is that bespoke means expensive. In traditional retail, that's often true — a bespoke service in a high-street jeweller carries the overhead of the shop, the staff, the brand, and several layers of margin.
Myni doesn't work that way. We design your ring and work directly with our craftsmen in India — a family workshop with generations of fine jewellery expertise. The cost of your ring reflects the materials and the craft. Nothing else.
Amy's 2.5ct oval diamond ring — E colour, internally flawless, with a hidden halo and 18ct gold — was designed from scratch around her taste and came in well below what an equivalent ring would have cost anywhere on the high street. That's why Myni exists.
The honest caveat
We can't give you an exact price without knowing what you want. But we can promise two things: your quote will be itemised and explained, and there's no obligation to proceed after your free consultation. If the number doesn't work for you, we'll tell you what does — or you can walk away, no pressure.
